Investment in plans for a Junction 18A welcomed by Luke Hall MP after Chancellor announces half a million pounds for feasibility study.
Today the Chancellor announced in his March Budget that South Gloucestershire Council will be receiving an investment of £500,000 to conduct a feasibility study for a new Junction 18A on the M4.
This announcement comes after a concerted campaign by Local MP Luke Hall alongside other South Gloucestershire MP’s.
The campaign for a new Junction 18A on the M4, driven by the local MP has recently gone from strength to strength with over 1,000 residents and over 100 local businesses showing their support for the scheme in both a petition and letter recently presented to the Secretary of State.
The investment from the Treasury of £500,000 builds upon the £80,000 already earmarked by South Gloucestershire Council meaning the hopes for the Junction have improved dramatically.
Luke welcoming the investment said:“I am delighted to see that after my campaign for investment in infrastructure in our area through that the M4 Link scheme has been granted such a significant amount of funding to go forward to the next stage. This has been made possible by sound control of the public finances and a strong economy which is delivering for South Gloucestershire”
