Luke Hall held his latest village surgery at the Rose and Crown, in Rangeworthy on Friday 14th February.
The surgery was one of his busiest yet, and residents brought some important village issues to Luke’s attention.
Speeding through the village was a common problem, with residents concerned about the safety of pedestrians and dog-walkers. Potholes through Rangeworthy was also a concern, with residents stating these have been exacerbated by current weather.
Local parents also raised the bus service from Rangeworthy to Thornbury with Luke. Concerns were raised about the current service for school children, which runs at either 7.25am, or 9.00am. The current 7.25am service gets their children to Castle School too early, and the 9.00 am service too late.
Residents also voiced their support for Luke's Positive Plan for the area, which includes fighting against poorly planned housing development like Buckover, and investing in our local health centres like the planned Thornbury and Frenchay Health Centre upgrades, improving our transport infrastructure, increasing funding in every school, keeping business taxes low in order to support the local economy, and ensuring that everyone has access to a good Broadband connection.

“Rangeworthy is a beautiful village, we must keep it that way. It is vital these concerns are addressed. I will continue to raise the issues of speeding and potholes with the council and have written to Stagecoach to see what more can be done to ensure children can get to school on time. We must also defeat Buckover ‘Garden Village’ once and for all, which would put huge pressure on the infrastructure in the surrounding villages.’
