To support World Cancer Day in Parliament, Local MP Luke Hall met with Cancer charities working to transform the lives of millions who are affected by cancer, through work in prevention, detection, treatment and support.
World Cancer Day is on Saturday 4th February and highlights the work being done by charities to unite the world’s population in the fight against cancer. Its aim is to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness about the disease.
In a statement Luke Hall said; “The awareness that World Cancer Day raises is extremely important, as current figures suggest that one in two people in the UK will develop cancer in their lifetime I am continuing to work with the Government to support the vital work of cancer charities in Parliament. If anyone wants to get involved with World Cancer Day and help raise awareness locally, they can wear a cancer Unity Band and share their support using the hashtag #ActofUnity.”
