Following his question to Department of Health and Social Care earlier this month, Luke Hall MP has now secured a debate in Parliament, focusing on the redevelopment of Thornbury Health Centre. Luke’s debate in Parliament will discuss the ongoing efforts to upgrade Thornbury Health Centre, and will call for South Gloucestershire to receive vital investment in order to upgrade the area’s local health services.
Furthermore, the MP for Thornbury will be meeting with the Health Secretary to discuss the timescales for a decision on a local bid that hopes to fund crucial upgrades for Thornbury's local health services.
By securing a personal meeting with the Secretary of State for Health, Steve Barclay MP, Luke will discuss how a successful bid can be used to upgrade Thornbury’s health services and will be using the opportunity to push the Government further for a decision.
During the debate and in his conversation with the Health Secretary, the local MP has said that he will be highlighting the growing demand in the South Gloucestershire community for greater out-patient care and health service expansion, as well as sharing the early results of a petition and survey which Mr Hall launched to help demonstrate the demand for these improved health services.
Luke said: “It is very good news that we have been able to secure this debate in Parliament, to put a spotlight on this campaign. Upgrading Thornbury Health Centre and improving health services in the town has been a key part of our Positive Plan for Health for so long.”
“I am glad to have secured this debate, as well as a meeting with the Health Secretary and will be pushing again to make sure our case is heard and finally get a decision from the Government."
