Luke has lived in South Gloucestershire his whole life and since his election in 2015, has always been a strong and fierce advocate for keeping our local transport issues firmly on the agenda.
The MP launched his Get South Gloucestershire Moving campaign, which has so far:
1) Secured the funding and delivered the Yate Park and Ride, with construction underway
2) Progressed plans for the reopening of Charfield Station
3) Reinstated the Y6/82 bus service between Southmead Hospital and Chipping Sodbury
4) Scrapped the Severn Bridge Tolls
5) Secured half-hourly train services between Bristol and Yate, set to be up and running by December 2021
Luke's Positive Plan for Transport also includes:
- Delivering Junction 18A on the M4
- An A38 Infrastructure Investment Package for Thornbury and Alveston
- Completing the Road to Nowhere
- Finishing the Yate to Bristol Cycle Path and improving cycling routes in our rural villages
- Putting in place an A38 package for Thornbury
- Plans for Tormarton Park and Share
- Introducing a new Coalpit Heath/Frampton Cotterell bypass to relieve pressure off Bristol and Badminton Road
- Allowing a right-way turn on Heron Way
