Local Man and MP Luke Hall, held a Young Persons Politics Forum (YPPF) last Friday at Brimsham Green School. The Forum is one of the ways that local man Luke is trying to engage the next generation in his constituency in politics. Students from the school joined in discussions designed to get the debate going, addressing the controversial Assisted Dying Bill and the legalisation of drugs.
Speaking of the event, Luke said: “I believe that the next generation have a wealth of knowledge and understanding that can be extremely helpful to the decision makers in Government.
“It is crucial to engage the next generation of speakers, activists, and professionals, in order to make their voices heard. If young people do not get involved, then politicians can often ignore them, only listening to the voices that shout the loudest, and this only further makes the young even more disenfranchised.”
