MP Luke Hall’s community fund has donated an array of much needed camping equipment to Yate & Chipping Sodbury 2509 Air Training Corp last month helping its 8th local group since being founded by the Thornbury and Yate MP in 2015.
The donation came in the form of cooking stoves, gas canisters and first aid kits which the Corps will now uses on its annual camping expeditions.
The fund set up after the MP refused the 10% pay rise ordered by IPSA, the body which independently reviews MP’s Pay, has sought to put that money back into the community by supporting groups with one off funding for equipment or items which they might have otherwise not been able to afford.
The MP said;
“Our local cadet forces provide great opportunities for our young people and so to be able to support 2509 Sq. with this donation is great. Our area has such a wide range of so many enthusiastic community groups so I am delighted I have been able to support the good they do in South Gloucestershire.”
The fund has now helped a range of groups across the area including;
· Rugby team kit for girls youth rugby
· Transport for a competition for a local dance group
· Sensory toys for Abbotswood phase 5 pre-school
· Sensory toys for Thornbury’s Jigsaw play group
· Violins to support youth music in Thornbury
· A new wheelchair for shop-mobility in Yate.
