Luke has written to every resident in Rangeworthy inviting them to come on a tour of parliament. In a new initiative designed to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to witness first-hand how the British democratic system works.
The first tour, for the residents of Rangeworthy will be held on Monday 10th April 2017, with a coach leaving from the village at 9am and heading to Westminster. The Tour will start in the great Westminster Hall and House of Parliament tour guides will then show people around the House of Commons, House of Lords, visiting the Queen’s robing rooms and ending in the actual House of Commons chamber. Following the tour, Luke will be taking questions and talking about life as an MP.
The tours are completely free although residents do have to cover their own travel at a cost of £11.50 a return ticket. The tickets are available from behind the bar at the Rose and Crown pub in Rangeworthy and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Luke Hall aims to roll out these tours to villages across South Gloucestershire, depending on the demand and feedback from the Rangeworthy trial.
Luke Hall said: “As a local man, I want to ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to visit the heart of our British democracy, and I am looking forward to welcoming local residents to Parliament.”
