Local resident and author Aimee Williams recently held a very successful book launch at Yate Library on Saturday 19th May. The event celebrated the launch of Aimee’s first collection of bedtime stories, and was well attended by members of the local community and parents with their children.
The fun-filled morning at Yate Library gave local residents the chance to get a first look at Aimee’s children’s book, called “The Fairy, the Dreamer, and a Rabbit named Woof!”, which was well-received by many local Yate and Sodbury children and their families. The day included an official unveiling and reading of the book, face painting sessions, and a children’s colouring competition which was judged by MP Luke Hall.
The Sodbury resident took inspiration for her bedtime stories from her own family and especially her experience as a mum of three. The author now hopes her collection of short stories will inspire and bring happiness to many other local children and their families. This successful first book is not only the fulfilment of a dream for the local author, but it also shows the Yate and Sodbury area is truly brimming with talent.
MP Luke Hall, who was present at the book launch, said: “As soon as I heard about this wonderful initiative I knew I had to attend to show my support for Aimee in her first book venture. As a local father it was great to join other local families in celebrating this fantastic local author and her amazing book”.
