Progress is continuing to be made on the delivery of a new secondary school at Lyde Green. The new school is being developed in partnership between South Gloucestershire Council, the Department for Education and the newly appointed sponsor trust, the Olympus Academy Trust.
It has been confirmed that Lyde Green Secondary School will open for children in September 2022 and parents/carers will be able to express a preference for Lyde Green in their admission application for secondary transfer in September 2022.
As part of the pre-opening phase, the Year 7 cohort will be temporarily co-located on the Winterbourne Academy site. Under this arrangement, necessary interim classroom accommodation and transport will be provided by South Gloucestershire Council between Lyde Green and Winterbourne for all students who need it during 2022-23.
The Council and Olympus Academy Trust are holding information sessions for families interested in places and wanting to hear more detail. These will take place in a local venue towards the end of September.
