Luke Hall MP recently met with Thornbury in Bloom, who helped to oversee the planting of new Cherry Trees in Thornbury.
Together with Thornbury in Bloom, Luke attended the tree planting event in the Mundy Playing Fields, and was also joined by local Tree Warden Judith, who has planted over 220 trees in and around Thornbury in the past 12 years.
The Cherry Trees are part of the Sakura Cherry Tree Project and are a generous gift from the people of Japan following an Olympics Friendship and Cultural exchange project. Luke has helped to distribute these UK grown trees to local community groups across South Gloucestershire, which include:
Lyde Green Open Spaces
Friends of Kingsgate Park
Thornbury Playing Fields
Manorbrook Primary
Iron Acton Parish Council
Make sure you look out for these beautiful Cherry Trees our green spaces here in South Gloucestershire and take a photo so you can follow their growth and share with friends and family.
