Luke Hall, MP for Thornbury and Yate “cut the ribbon” this month to officially open Chipping Sodbury Post Office at a new location – SPAR, 50 High Street, Chipping Sodbury, Bristol, BS37 6AH. This has restored service to the town.
The opening hours of the branch are Monday – Saturday 7am – 10.30pm; Sunday: 8am – 10.30pm.
This means that the Post Office is open throughout the store’s opening hours, offering more than 108 hours of Post Office service a week.
Luke Hall MP said: “Having a Post Office in Chipping Sodbury again is great news for the community. I know that my constituents are very pleased. I thank SPAR for taking on the branch and for providing daily service from early until late.”
Blakemore Retail Post Office Controller Stewert Waldron said: “As a community retailer we are delighted to offer post office services in our convenience stores; local residents can access a wide range of Post Office services during our shop opening hours – more than 108 hours a week.”
This branch inside the Chipping Sodbury SPAR store has restored a full-time permanent Post Office services to the area. The previous branch at 29 High Street, Chipping Sodbury, Bristol, BS37 6BA, closed in November 2019. A temporary Mobile Post Office operated from outside the council offices, twice a week, in the interim.
Nik Patel, Post Office Strategic Partnerships Manager, said: “We are delighted to have a permanent Post Office in this area again as we know how important a Post Office is to a community. The opening hours make it very convenient for customers to visit to do a wide range of transactions including sending mail and parcels, home shopping returns, cash withdrawals, banking, bill payments, sending travel money and Moneygram transfers.”
